Recent Award to Dr Billings:

Dear Dr. Billings,

CCHR’s Human Rights award has been given to many distinguished individuals who share a common goal to improve human rights. This has included dignitaries and government officials from the United States, Italy, South Africa and European countries, attorneys, educators, journalists, and whistleblowers.

This year CCHR is honoring you with our Award for your decades of work with the military and veterans, including obtaining the Congressional hearing into the relationship between psychotropic drugs and violence/suicide, which is remarkable. In fact, you were one of the first professionals to take up the issue and expose the link between psychiatric drugs and the tragic increase in suicides among soldiers. This has continued to raise media attention and, therefore, much needed public awareness.

Your commitment to improving the lives of our fighting forces and vets is truly commendable. This is also evident in your establishment of the Annual International Military and Civilian Combat Stress Conference which for more than 20 years has provided an invaluable venue for healthcare professionals to share clinical expertise and integrative treatment approaches.

You have provided hope and real help for which you are greatly thanked.
